Data Engineer (Remote)

Position Overview

As a Data Engineer supporting the DOD's Office of People Analytics, you will design and build data pipeline systems for collecting, storing and analyzing data to ensure it is usable for data scientists and analysts, while utilizing software best practices, data optimizations (including storage, indexing, and normalization), anomaly detection, and machine learning principles.

ERI supports the DOD's Office of People Analytics by providing advanced analytics and data science services such as the creation of end-to-end analytics pipelines from large scale data ingestion to storage to modeling to testing and end-user reporting and dashboarding.

ERI’s work is realized through data and analytics products and interactive visualization tools for further analyses on outcomes and policy, dashboards and scorecards on service member risks, enhanced data repositories and documentation for further research and analysis, and specialized reports and publications that have been used to brief senior-level executives of the DoD including the Defense Suicide Prevention Office’s (DSPO) annual rollout of the Annual Report on Suicide in the Military (ARSM).


Position Requirements

Required Clearance: Secret

Required Education: Bachelor of Science in a related field

Required Skills / Experience:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with Databricks (including E2)
  • Experience with Unity Catalog
  • Experience with SQL Warehouse
  • Experience with Python

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with Flask
  • Experience with R
